Molokhia with Its Country Tasha

Egyptian molokhia needs no inventions: a well-made molokhia, a tasha of garlic and coriander in country ghee, and the smell alone is enough to open the appetite.

Clay bowls full of green Egyptian molokhia, topped with a tasha of garlic and coriander browned in country ghee.

The secret of molokhia is its tasha

Our molokhia, a green soup of finely chopped jute leaves, is cooked in broth, and on top comes the tasha, without which molokhia would not be molokhia.

Country ghee, garlic and coriander are sizzled until their smell rises, and poured over the molokhia at the very end of the cooking.

We serve it hot in a clay bowl, with its tasha and a taste that reminds you of the best Egyptian home table.

You will find it in the “On the Table” section of the menu, next to the Egyptian home dishes we all love.

Molokhia loves company

You can order it on its own, or with half a duck browned with country morta and rice, or in the kids' meal with rice and koko, which is chicken bites.

On our menu there is “Half Duck with Rice & Molokhia”, and “Molokhia, Rice & Chicken Bites” for the little ones.

If you want rice with it, choose between white rice and vermicelli rice.
