Country Meats on the Charcoal Grill
At Hagouga, country meat is the base and charcoal does its job. Kofta, kebab, tarb, chops and sausage: Egyptian grill with its real taste.

When country meat meets charcoal
Our grills are cooked over charcoal. The quarter-kilo and third-of-a-kilo plates are served on a bed of chopped parsley, and the grill platters (the Hagouga Platter and the Hajja's Loved Ones Platter) are served on a bed of rice. A grilled green pepper goes on the individual plates.
From kofta and Special Lamb Kofta to lamb and veal kebab, chops, steak and fillet. We also have lamb liver, sausage, half a grilled chicken and shish tawook.
Tarb is for those who appreciate tarb: kofta wrapped in caul fat (the thin, lace-like fat from around the stomach), which takes its distinctive flavour from the charcoal.
The weights are clear on the menu, from a quarter kilo to a third of a kilo for the chop and kebab plates.
Tarwi'a and Hajja's Neifa… another story
Tarwi'a is a charcoal-grilled rib, served with roz mesaqsaq: white rice soaked in lamb broth, rich in the Egyptian way.
Hajja's Neifa is lamb neck, also served with the same rice. A dish with its own devoted fans.
If you are coming as a group, we have the Hagouga Platter and the Hajja's Loved Ones Platter, combining kebab, kofta, sausage, mombar, shish and country liver. Platters made so the whole table can gather around them.
